Who sells 220-240 Volt wireless soldering iron ?
Posted by Carves on Thursday, January 8, 2009 10:21 AM

Hi guys,

I was actually aiming to buy the Iso-Tip wireless soldering iron, but the charger only works with 110 Volt and I dont want to use a step-down.

Was wondering if anyone knows another good wireless soldering iron that the chrager can do 220-240 Volt.

Thanks

I have seen them use about every voltage but 220 volts. Are you needing 220 volts 50 cycles like used in Europe? Might want to look at the butane ones. They make them in several different sizes. I have one that's about twice the size of a ball point pen, and another one that's lost that's about the size of the average pencil.

Hi Gary, Thanks for the reply.

I live in Indonesia. We use 220-240 Volt electricity here.
I'm not confident in using butane pencil type torch, I might melt the brass parts or even deform the plastic parts.

Looks like that I have to use a step down in order to use Iso-Tip stuff.

they do sell a wall mount transformer that will convert the 220 down to 110 volts. Most travel shops sell them.

Micro Mark sells a 220 volt resistance soldering machine.
