Pigments
Hey fellow modelers, I recently was looking at a color chart for MIG pigments and as I was doing so my wife walked into our bedroom with a box from one of here makeup places and it also had a color chart with it and I realized that many of the shades were the same as those on my chart! I went down to the local beauty supply, which we all frequent from time to time for the emery boards, nippers, cutters etc. but I discovered a wealth of pigments. I am paying about $7.50 at my local hobby shop for MIG pigments and I get 20 ml. of powder, however for $2.99 I get .6 oz. or 1 gram of makeup powder in the same shades if not more and I have tried a few types and brands and it works great!! Go have a look for yourself. My wife says if I keep my eyes open in the cheapo or overstock stores I can get 5 or 10 oz. for $2-3 dollars and like I said the shades and colors run all over the charts, many more shades and colors available. Hope this helps. I mean you get 3-4 times more powder for less than half the price, in more shades and in courser of finer grinds. It opens up a whole new world of weathering and scale color matching! Later, Newarmorman
