So is it similar to fiber-optic strands?
No. Fiber optic is flexible, Wonder Wire is more like a spring steel wire...though it is made from something else. It will bow but it is NOT bendable like wire. Typically most users drill two receptor holes at each end of where they want to install the wire, then cut it to a slightly longer length. By bowing it they can insert each end into the corresponding hole and the wire is in place and taut.

Wonder wire is a ceramic wire material. It is very rigid and is great for rigging. One of our club members and FSM reviewers loves the stuff for 1:48 scale rigging. He did confirm last night that it is too small for 1:32 aircraft. You can bend it but it is breakable. Only one source I know of for it and I've been told when you call to place your order, let the phone ring until someone picks up. I can't seem to find their phone number in my notes.

I saw Wonder wire referenced numerous times as rigging in the FSM 2010 Great Scale Modeling issue. Anyone know anything about it??
