Getting Started: Tools and Supplies (Parts #1 and #2)
Posted by Model Kit Builder on Sunday, March 28, 2010 9:24 PM

Part one shows basic tools and supplies that I currently use and have used over the years in building and painting model kits. Brushes, glues and paints are some of the topics discussed.

Part two continues where part one left off, showing basic tools and supplies that I currently use and have used over the years in building and painting model kits. Cutting tools, sand paper and air brushes are discussed.

A special thank you goes out to Cal Everett & Terry Cour II for their help in making these videos.

Thanks and take care,

Very nice.  Basic, of course, and just a quick discussion of tools.  I took a lot of notes.  You obviously spent some time preparing the dissertation.  Good job.

And a list of tools I hadn't even thought of like jeweler files and dental sculpting tools.

Thanks !

Thank you for watching the videos.

It took me around 3 months to get the proper notes together, write the script and take the photos.

I'm very happy that you found them useful.

Just curious, now that I think about it, you spent time discussing air brushes and air compressor (expensive items in general) but didn't mention a Dremel tool.  Are those not really useful these days?

I failed to mention a Dremel tool. I do still use it very much. I will perhaps cover it in a future video.

I found it very informative and helpful for the beginner modeler. You may want to do a future video covering some advanced tools and items used for detailing.

Thank you for the kind words!

I do plan on expanding on the series and getting into more advanced tools of the trade.

My next video in that series will be on the Dremel motor tool.

If you have any ideas on tools that you would like covered, please let me know.

Thanks and take care,
