Plastic Magic 10 Sec Cement (liquid glue)

Plasti-Weld 

Zap CA glues (thin, medium and thick)

Does it really matter which one is recommended? Not really. It's your choice what you choose.

Yeah, that's about what I paid for a bottle at a local shop.  Certainly shouldn't be twenty-three bucks.

Like everyone else I use Tamiya extra thin,extra thin quick set and Tamiya regular white cap cement. 

MR.Cement has a good range of cement as well and similar to the Tamiya line.

All are readily available in Canada from a number of sources and range from $5-$7 a bottle.

Hi everyone.

I am tired of my Testors glue bottles. One is stuck and I opened another one and have difficulty to make the glue come out.

What glue do you suggest me to buy that is easy to use and wont get glued completely after each time? 

I use Tamiya Extra Thin, and I also use Testor's liquid cement in the black plastic bottle with the long dispenser nozzle.  I have never had any problems with that particular Testor's product.  Which Testor's glue are you talking about?

I also use the old-school Testor's tube glue, for some applications.

In any case, for styrene models, I use cement made for styrene, and not cyano-acrylate (CA) glues.  I prefer the weld bond, which glues made for styrene give me.

For the love of God, do not buy any hobby tools or kits through Amazon. They charge too waaay too much compared to most online hobby stores like scalehobbyist, spruebrothers, and others.

I use just three, Tamiya Extra Thin-green cap, sometimes Tamiya-orange cap,dries slower, and Gorilla CA glue

I use Tamiya Thin and Testors black bottle with the red label. I use Testors for large surfaces and long, wide joints.

Many.  I use Tamiya thin solvent cement when I need long setting time.  I use both thin and gel CA (loctite brand)- thin for perfectly fitting joints, gel for ordinary joints.  I keep epoxy on hand for strong bonds on dis-similar materials, white glue for wood, cardboard and paper, and UV hardening glue for transparencies.

       What is the problem? I have Never had a problem such as you describe. I have used Testors for over fifty years without problems. I do have others Such as Tamiya Thick and Thin. Both very useful. I also use the following for certain projects. "Faller brand" Super-Expert in the metal tipped squeeze bottle,  And Citadel Plastic Glue. It's got a needle applicator too. Both are hard to keep clear, but only in the needle, Got it when I went to build some WarHammer figures. Thought I would give it a try, Lastly I have A 2 oz. Bottle of Flex-I-File brand for my Lexan and Polycarbonate sheet( Showcases).It is also useful for all other applications.

     Now you being up in our northern Neighborly country, How much of a difference is there in regular brand pricing? $23.00 for Tamiya Glue. Oh No, that's a ripoff!, even if that includes shipping. I would say find your glue at any kind of Craft Store Chain you might have up there. It's bound to be way cheaper.

    Your Testors sounds very old. How often do you use it? and is it the Bottle? Or are you not cleaning the top edge of the bottle and inside of the lid after use and then making sure it is tight and won't leak. 

I believe the OP lives in Canada, so there will be an exchange rate, but, I agree, and should have said, $23 is way too expensive for cement.

Just my humble opinion...but unless you're attaching tiles on a space shuttle, there isn't a glue on the planet worth $23 for a bottle that size.

It's probably wise to always check hobby & craft outlets online first...then go to Amazon as a last resort. Some of their 'vendor' prices are truly outrageous.

$23.00 is about 5 times more than anybody should be asking for that.  Sprue Brothers has that same bottle for $4.80.  Try to avoid places like Amazon for things like paint and cement...there are a lot of scalpers selling that kind of stuff on Amazon.

Yes, it can be expensive, but, I've been using the same bottle for the last two years. You don't use as much as you would with gel glue. Also, Testors had a thin cement, and I'm sure there may be others at different price points.

Tamiya Extra Thin gets my vote too.  If you put things like fuselage halves together and leave a tiny gap between them, you can touch the brush to the joint, hold the gap open for about 20-25 seconds, then push them together, you'll get a bead of melted plastic along the seam that you can just carefully scrape away with a knife 24 hours later.  It eliminates the need to fill seams in a majority of cases and minimizes having to replace details lost to sanding.  Its great stuff and I'll never go back to the other glues I have tried.

Not sure which Testors glue you're using, but their clear liquid cement in the brush-in-the-cap bottles are pretty easy to use.

A lot of the folks here...including myself...use Tamiya's thin cement. It's a bit more volatile than the Testors stuff, faster-setting and generally cleaner to use.

The 'thin' is useful because you can just touch it to a seam, and it will be drawn in through capillary action. Faster, cleaner and less waste.

I like Tamiya's Extra Thin Cement. You can put both pieces together, then run a thin line of cement along the seem. Very easy. Some will say it's expensive...
