The seven smallest bits in my mini bit set are all broken. where can I get SINGLE bits? I have seen packs of five or six bits on micro mark but they are rather expensive.

Check at your local hardware store...ACE, True Value,  Hardware  Hank etc...many of these full service hardware stores carry them in their tool departments. You might find out as I did it was cheaper picking up a full set...I got this one for under  $13 whereas some of the individual bits were as much as $2 each.

Check the welding supplies while you're at the hardware store, they have a nice little tool used to clean gas torch tips which contains all but the smallest bits. Again they are relatively inexpensive. The two on the right are two examples of what I am talking about...again one is from Fourney a tool manufacturer in the US.

Hmmm, my LHS carries them.  You can buy one or many.  Do you have any hobby stores in your area tha might carry them?

The few shops in this area do not sell single bits. Does your LHS have a website?

yes, but I believe when you order using their website, you are ordering from a vender/partner and not the LHS itself.  http://www.highsierrahobbies.com/

I would be more than happy to swing by my LHS if you like and pick up whatever bits you need.  Smile [:)]  If you're interested, send me a PM and we can work out the details.

As Hawkeye noted above -- check your local Ace hardware store.   NOT a big-box hardware store like Lowes or Home Depot, but a Mom & Pop store.   Find the oldest guy around and ask him if they carry wire-gauge drills. If they don't carry them they may be able to get them for you.

The Ace Hardware just up the block from me carrys them.  They also carry K&E brass, aluminum, and stainless steel stock.  Plus Wet-n-Dry sandpaper down to the auto body finish grits (1500).
