~1mm brass tubing, where to buy?
Posted by rios on Tuesday, March 4, 2008 6:18 PM

I've been using "Lionroar brass pipes" (made for ship modelers, stretched instead of rolled) and they offered couple sizes below 1 mm O diameter (1/25 inch), but these things are 10 bucks per yard, very expansive. K&S tubes only go down to 1/16 inch, not thin enough.

Wondering if there're more affortable brass or copper options. I'm from Pennsylvania, but online retailer from anywhere would be ok.

Oh, and anything over 15cm (5 inches) long would do, I just need the diameter to be smaller than 1mm. Brass preferred for ease of soldering.

K&S Special Shapes Stock No. 05035 TT-61 1/32" x 0.006" wall brass tubing.

I calculate 0.8 mm.  My LHS sells it in 1 ft lengths.  Several online sites come up  - Tower Hobbies, etc.

Try towerhobbies.com and/or smallparts.com.  Those are the two I go to for small tubing.

Oddly, I looked at Small Parts and they don't have anything in copper, brass, or aluminum finer than 1/16 inch. Stainless and titanium they have down to the finest hypo. You'd think that they would have it at least in brass, which can be alloyed and treated to be drawn finer than 1/16. they are expanding their product line, som maybe it would be good to ask them to stock it.

Ross Martinek A little strangeness, now and then, is a good thing… Wink

Much thanks guys.  That's the tubing I wanted, and tower hobby does have them. They come in 8X12" packages and ~$10 per package, so quite a bit cheaper than the LR counterpart.
