Next time, on "This Old Workbench"...
Posted by Camojoe2 on Thursday, March 6, 2008 8:30 PM

Alright guys, it's about as done as it's gonna get.
The brown drawer that you see, I picked up on the side of the road one afternoon. Glued one side back on, and it was good to go.
I'll add pegs to the peg board as needed, and hang the air filter/regulator when the time comes.
I'm sure I'll think of something else I could've added.
In case you can't tell from the pics, the bench is mobile, by lowering the "landing gear", then made stationary by raising same. I can't take credit for that idea, it's a Norm Abram original.
I looked at the rear of the peg board, thinking what a waste of space. Hmmm, perfect place for a painting table. Ok, I'll make it foldable and self-stowing. The legs pull out of the sockets, and stow in their own clamps. I'll also make a lazy-Susan for it when painting time comes.
Gimme some feed-back. I think I'll pick up a Harbor Freight lighted magnifier tomorrow.

Dad would've got a real kick outta this.

Pretty incredible! Wish i had that kind of handiness and ingenuity. Now, It's time for you to build ON it! Take some shots of it full of plastic, resin, paints, glues, knives... let's see what it looks like in action.

Thanks much for sharing the build of this bench, along with all the hints and details.  Great inspiration!

Camojoe - Thanks for sharing.  I may have to make something like that in my basement.  The model railroad club i belong to keep bugging me about building a model railroad in my basement along with my daughters.  They want to help build the layout.
