Leggos...???
Posted by wreklund on Sunday, March 30, 2008 1:35 PM

My motive for this post is dual purpose. I've recently purchased a new camera and was looking for an excuse to post some photos to see how my photoshop was going to work out . I am currently in the middle of three builds and would like to keep a photo catalouge of the progress of each.

I have made use of my son's Leggo collection to construct a very useful "tool", if you will, for constructing model aircraft and thought that I would share it with everyone. It can be as simple or as complex as one would like. These photos show my 1/48 scale Revell/Monogram F/16 in progress. As you can see, the plane snuggles in very nicely(up or down) and is captured at both ens to prevent it from sliding off. The plane stays sturdy and protrusions such as antenna, landing gear, etc. all remain protected from breakage.

I'll be constructing similar stands for my 1/48 Revell F-15 & A-10 as soon as I get the fuselage's constructed.

So you may want to reconsider selling your childs leggo collection in that garage sale this spring.

(looks as though my photo log for my builds will work out just fine, eh?)

Looks like a very handy rig! I personaly use legos to built casting boxes for resin casting.

I've seen similar Lego stands for aligning bi-plane wings.  Always mean to make one, but I'd have to buy new Legos.  My kids Legos went to my Grandkids.
