Need some info Mercury Adhesive
Posted by S_Karrde on Tuesday, April 15, 2008 11:56 AM

Last time I took a trip and stopped by the closest LHS, I saw several grades of CA from Mercury Adhesives.  Normally, I've been using the stuff they offered from Bob Smith Industries (BSI) but I get so frustrated about the CA getting dry in the tip and have to occasionally replace tips.
But, from what the LHS owner was telling me, that not only does this stuff work great, but they designed the cap to keep CA from drying in the tip.

?!?!?  Has any of you worked with this stuff yet?  I want a good opinion before I try this out.

I've just started using the Mercury CA. It is too soon to give any informed opinion, but first impressions are good as far as the usability of the CA. The nozzle does dispense a large amount as configured so that may be a bit of a nuisance.

BSI private labels CA for several companies. I found that reducing the air infiltration into the bottle keeps the CA from setting prematurely. I insert Teflon tubes into my applicator tips and they last for months on end sitting on the bench. The tubing also offers better application control.
