Could reference books transfer across scales?
Posted by modeler#1 on Saturday, May 10, 2014 5:07 PM

I want to get osprey's 1/16 guide to building a Tiger I of sPz.Abt 502, I am building a 1/35 scale model however. could techniques used in the book transfer over to 1/35 scale?

Thanks!

A general answer is yes. (your specific example may be an exception, though)

I used an Osprey builders guide to the Phantom to work on  my 1/72 F-4J(UK). The book's model was 1/32.

One of the things we end up doing is combining some details into one part instead of 3 or more that they used on the larger scale model.

The worst case is that you see ways to make details in the larger scale that you might not be able to do in your scale

I would be primary using it for reference, painting and weathering but probably not for adding parts and such. Thanks for the reply!
