Weeell, I wouldn't say it sucks. The SP of CoD has a better storyline. I'm looking forward to CoD2 which should be out in Oct or Nov.

So long folks!

Sadly, yes. A video game traditionally doesn't do that to you, but Call of Duty is different(but the expansion sucks)

thanks for the info; for anyone who has ever played Call of Duty, the ending scene in the Russian campaign gave me the inspiration for it.

Andrew I have the staged propaganda photo that Ralph is talking about. I must have seen the same doco because he is dead right, the guy that did that actual raising of the flag was definitely more than a little miffed.

Anyway if you want the shot you are more than welcome to it. Send me an e-mail with an e-mail address I can send an attachment to.

Cheers

Don't know how much luck you're going to have with that. The Soviets supposedly restaged the whole thing several days after the fact, based on a documentary I saw with one of the soldiers who was part of the actual flag raising. This guy was a bit miffed that they didn't feature the original soldiers but rather "recruiting poster" types for the cameras.

There was also a propaganda film shot in the late 40s or early 50s that shows the event, and it is supposedly wildly inaccurate. The movie depicts a pitched gunbattle at the doors of the Reichstag but the soldier said they were pretty much alone when they reached the building.

Given all that, I'd say that a few pictures of the building itself and some creative license will be as good as you're going to get, and with not too much work.
