I finally got around to trying Archer's rivet decals on my current project, and am quite pleased. Despite my being lazy and not glossing the model, the decals applied easily and tolerated rough handling during a few "oops" repositioning moments. The rivets are printed on a continuous carrier film, so you need to cut out what you need. I quickly learned that cutting close to the lines of rivets was the way to go.

The decals responded well to Micro-Set and Solvaset, which was a relief. Good quality stuff.
Archer decals are expensive, but they allowed me to do something I couldn't do by myself. I have another "shelf of doom" project that will require thousands of rivets, so I at least have one solution.
