I dropped my bottle of Tamiya Cement and wondering if Squadron Plastic Weld is a similar product. (I am having trouble finding a quick replacement bottle of Tamiya). Compare and contrast thems items if you have used both. Thanks.

squadron’s glue smells like methyl ethyl ketone (MEK). The label has all sorts of health hazard warnings typically associated with MEK.
Tamiya’s is ‘fruitier’, more of a lacquer thinner smell. MSDS says butyl acetate and acetone. Similar OMG health warnings.

Do they behave the same on plastic? Same drying time? Is Squardron thin like the Tamiya?
Yes they work the same but Tamiya is low odor.

Testor's thin liquid cement also works pretty well, though I don't think it flows quite as well as Tamiya's extra thin.
