Bill used a
Dragon 1/35 scale StuG III ausf F and scratchbuilt compartments for the driver
and transmission. “Then I destroyed the whole thing,” he says. “I used the
hairspray technique as shown in FSM. A
lot of it is real rust mixed with pastel sludges and ground pastels in oil,
water, or thinned white glue. The figure is a composite from the parts box.”
Bill built a base of Styrofoam and covered it with Sculptamold, ground-up peat
moss, and Scenic Details grass and weeds.
