“This is the old 1/35 scale Tamiya Jeep,” Daniel says, “in a diorama called ‘Silent Hero.’ After watching the ‘Band of Brothers’ Bastogne episode for the millionth time, I decided to do a little scene in the Ardennes.” He added Aber’s photoetched-metal set and scratchbuilt a stretcher from foil and styrene rod, also using foil for stowage straps and a blanket. “Handy stuff!” he says. He used dot filters and Mig pigments for weathering. “The snow is a very fine insulation product applied by sprinkling it over watered-down white glue,” Daniel says, although he used Sculptamold for the base. The medic and casualty are Nemrod figures; the other two figures are from Dragon’s 101st Airborne set. “What started out as a small project took me five months to complete,” he says. “I may be going smaller with the next one.”
