That’s no moon: According to starwarsmodels.com, the scale of AMT/Ertl’s 9"-diameter Death Star from “Star Wars” is 1/520,000. And, according to Cal, he still has a long way to go. He says, “You must bash, cut, sand, add, and remove many areas of the kit to create a fantastic visual.” He’s still busy detailing with Testors paints, ink, pencil, and pastels. “I am still working on this project, and the Emperor is most displeased with my apparent lack of progress. I shall double my efforts!” That’s OK, Cal — the Emperor is not as forgiving as we are.
