“I started collecting Roco (now Herpa) minitanks when I had a newspaper route in elementary school,” Fred says. He loaded Herpa’s 1/87 scale Opel Blitz with a field repair kit from Artitec Models’ Werkstatten. After building the truck, “One by one, I cut, sanded, cleaned, and hand-painted the remaining pieces,” he says. He spent 50 hours over seven weeks on the project.
