Modeling the 1974 Yardley McLaren M23 Formula 1 car, Michael souped up Tamiya’s original 1/12 scale kit with: Acu-Stion seat belt hardware; belts made from ribbon; scratchbuilt red and blue hose fittings from hex and round rod; and hoses made from strips of leather shoelace painted silver, among many other enhancements and improvements. Aftermarket decals (from IndyCals) replaced the aged originals, and Michael pulled a new windshield from Tamiya’s reissue of the kit.
