Bowen Shaw
Ridgecrest, California

It’s nice to have good references: Bowen has a full-scale 1958 Triumph TR3A in his garage. He superdetailed Minicraft’s 1/24 scale kit with a gearshift, parking brake handle, and passenger hand-hold made from straight pins. Pieces of Pilot P-500 pens provided parts for the gear-shifter boot and the transmission tunnel. He used clear styrene stock for the windshield and wind wings, and more sheet styrene to fill gaps in the wheel wells. The axles and exhaust tip are brass rod; Bare-Metal Foil graces the fender beading, gas cap, hinges, door handles, windshield frame, headlight bezel, exhaust tip, and the rear turn-signal bezels. For a finish, he says, “I used Testors Model Master British racing green. What else?”
