Robert Pollak

Longview, Texas

Robert says: “This is Revell’s 1/40 scale Skyraider, manufactured in 1959. I scratchbuilt several parts using aluminum soft drink cans and finished it with Testors Model Master paints, Aero Master decals, Pledge Future floor polish, and pastels. The speed brakes operate when the elevator is pushed up or down, you can move the center pylon on the fuselage, and the landing gear is retractable. Also, the ailerons work, the rudder moves, and the tail gear retracts. The cowl can be displayed open or closed, and the engine has some good detail. If assembled properly, all of these features make for a great model of that time.”
