“This is the Airfix 1/72 scale Supermarine Spitfire PR.XIX in Swedish markings,” writes Darrick. “I painted it with Tamiya aluminum, used the salt technique to show paint chipping, and painted the plane overall with Humbrol acrylic. The panel lines are done with artist’s oils. The panels were given a lighter shade of blue on the upper surfaces. The antenna is a piece of 4-pound fishing line colored with a Sharpie marker.”
