“Arado Im Winter” is what Chris calls his rendition of Hobbycraft’s 1/48 scale Arado Ar 234. Additions to the cockpit include Waldron photoetched-metal foot pedals, Aires wheel bay and cockpit sets, and frames scratchbuilt from wire and plastic rod. He used colored thread soaked in white glue for extensive wiring in the cockpit, and fine fishing line for the radio antenna. Masking with Glad Press ’n’ Seal, he airbrushed a German splinter scheme with Tamiya colors and applied Eagle Strike decals. A couple of days after painting, he masked off the cockpit and airbrushed with decanted Dullcote. “I like to choose a technique from FSM and practice it on each model. This makes every build a new experience and a lot of fun.”
