Tamiya acrylics, Eduard canopy masks, and Kits-World decals (plus a few decals of his own) helped Herb model Monogram’s 1/48 scale B-17G as Queen of Hearts, piloted by Capt. Robert Moreman, 359th Bombardment Squadron, 303rd Bombardment Group, Molesworth, England, 1944. Herb says, “It was an honor to present this model of his aircraft to radio operator (then) Tech. Sgt. Warren E. ‘Barney’ Barnts on his 87th birthday. He flew 35 missions and was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross. A modest and unassuming man — a true American hero!”
