“I have a real interest in aircraft flown in the desert war in World War II, especially the British Tomahawks and Kittyhawks and the fighters flown by Germans in JG 27.” Steve built ICM’s 1/72 scale Bf 109E-7/Trop, installed Eduard harnesses and belts, and painted with Testors Model Master enamels lightened for scale effect. Steve says, “I have read that early on some German planes were painted with Italian stocks, possibly accounting for a darker shade. Accordingly, I added a touch of red brown to the base color.”
