Sam Wong, Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada

For his diorama “Brave Heart,” depicting the D-Day landings of June 6, 1944, Sam manned two 1/35 scale Italeri LCVPs with 48 converted Dragon and MiniArt figures. He says the base is about 15" x 27"; he used airplane wood stock to carve out the general shape of the troubled waters, then refined the shapes with modeling clay and painted with watercolors. His ambitious build took second place in a 2012 Hong Kong model contest.
