Bruce Morris, Belmont, California

When Bruce chose Dragon’s StuG IV (SdKfz 166) Brummbär with Zimmerit, he ranged far and wide through the aftermarket for a complete interior. “I combined the R & J lower hull interior with a Griffon fighting compartment and the CMK PzKpfw IV Ausf H/J engine set,” he says. “The 150mm ammo was from Voyager.” After base coats of Tamiya acrylics, he used washes of artist’s oils along with Mig pigments (mud and Russian earth) on the undercarriage and wheels. Then, he dry-brushed the chassis with artist’s oils and applied thin acrylic filters. “The biggest problem was getting the aftermarket kits to fit inside,” he says.
