Esci 1/48 scale Mirage 2000 - April 2014

Lt. Cmdr. Scott Samo, Naval Air Station Patuxent River, Maryland

Scott threw a lot at Esci’s 1/48 scale Mirage 2000: a NeOmega cockpit; a combination of Twobobs and Carpena decals; and a refueling probe end and pitot tube from Mastercast. “I painted the red walkway stripes on the wings,” Scott says. “It was a tedious process to get the stripes even.” He painted with Gunze Sangyo Aqueous Hobby Color, mixing his own colors according to references, and weathered with Winsor & Newton artist’s oils as well as fading and shading with his airbrush.
