“It started with Imai’s 1/110 scale ‘Space 1999’ Eagle transport that I built more than 10 years ago,” David writes. “I sold it on eBay a couple of years ago, but it was lost in the mail. Seeking to right the situation, I built a second kit and improved it as I had the first.” David modified the command module, spine, shoulder, passenger pods, engine tanks, and main-engine bells, and scratchbuilt cages with the service pods, landing struts, and bells for the vertical takeoff and landing engines. Additionally, he built a removable passenger pod and cast various other parts in resin — a first for him.
