Louis Hof, Raceview, Queensland, Australia

Louis calls this vignette “Kokoda.” He writes: “The inspiration came from a watercolor painting in a 1944 (Australian) army publication, Jungle Warfare, showing troops manhandling a 25-pounder across a gully in New Guinea. I modified the 1/35 scale Tamiya 25-pounder to represent the Australian short-barreled version. Figures and weapons are Tamiya and Dragon (Commonwealth) with scratchbuilt hats. Everything has been brush-painted with Testors Model Master and Humbrol enamels over Tamiya spray primer. Plastic foam covered with Spakfilla (spackling compound) formed the groundwork.”
