“I call this diorama ‘Tiger Ice Capades,’” Robert says. In the 1/35 scale scene, Italeri’s Tiger II is encased in several layers of Woodland Scenics Realistic Water. “Sprinkling snow over the Realistic Water while it’s still wet gives it a frozen, cloudy look,” Robert says. He painted the river bed and layers of currents with Winsor & Newton blue, green, and white artist’s oils. An Italeri Steyr Raupenschlepper Ost stands by to salvage fuel; tissue soaked in white glue forms its canvas top. Robert weathered the vehicle with artist’s chalks and Vallejo acrylic paints.
