Greg built the Williams Brothers’ 1/32 scale Gee Bee R race plane. The name Gee Bee stands for the plane’s builders, Granville Brothers, of Springfield, Massachusetts. In 1932, piloted by Jimmy Doolittle, the R-1 won the Thompson Trophy race and set a world speed record of 296 mph in the Shell Speed Dash.
