William Todd

Glasgow, Scotland

“I have had a fascination with history and knights in armor since I was a wee laddie,” says William. “Living in Scotland, with its romantic castles, historic battlefields, and bloody history, has only deepened my interest. Indeed, the area where I live — Knightswood, also known as the Wood of the Knights — was land held by the Knights Templar in medieval times.” Having acquired a Monogram reissue of Aurora’s 1/8 scale Gold Knight of Nice, William converted it to a tournament pose by repositioning its right arm and making his own horse barding, lance, sword scabbard, plume holders for horse and horseman, and a shield, mace, and base. He painted mostly with Tamiya and Humbrol acrylics but used artist’s oils for the knight’s head.
