Charlie Miller

Garland, Texas

Building Revell’s 1/32 scale Bell X-1, Charlie closed up the gear wells, installed a desktop stand, and painted the plane with Testors Model Master orange and gloss clear, both from a spray can. The exhaust is cotton from a bottle of aspirin. Charlie says, “I wanted to show the X-1 like it was on the day it broke the sound barrier in 1947.”
