Dennis says Encore’s rebox of Revell’s 1/232 scale USS Olympia adds wood decking as well as photo-etch and other details. “This is my first ship model since I quit building models as a kid, and my first-ever attempt at water. I used a Celluclay technique from an article in FineScale Modeler and referred to pictures I took of the wake from a cruise ship I was on a few years ago. The crewmen are Z scale railroad figures. I built the original Revell kit when I was a kid in the ’70s, so I wanted to try it again with all the updates. The black porthole rings were done with a Sharpie marker.”
