Matthew Teevan

London, England

Matthew says, “This is my X-15-3, converted from Special Hobby’s 1/48 scale X-15A-2. My brother is very keen on aircraft and the early space program, so I made this model for him for his birthday. He was born in 1963, the same year as some of the X-15’s record-breaking flights.” Matthew says the main part of the conversion was to shorten the fuselage about 6 scale feet (1.5") from the -2. “The length was in the mid-fuselage, so removing a section and rejoining the lengths was quite straightforward,” he says. He brush-painted the model with Humbrol enamel.
