A FineScale Modeler article on canopy masking inspired Achilles to build Accurate Miniatures’ 1/48 scale TBM Avenger. Dressing his torpedo bomber in an Atlantic scheme with Testors Model Master paints, Achilles used pastels for weathering and sealed with a 3:1 mix of Dullcote and semigloss clear. At last word the model was headed for display aboard the USS Lexington in Corpus Christi, Texas.
