Conrad Chapman

Newtown, Connecticut

There was no such attribution, but we suspect it may have been Mom or Dad who wrote, “Conrad, 11, built this 1/72 scale Airfix Mk.I Male straight from the box. It earned a “Best Junior” award at the 2016 Armorcon show in Danbury, Conn. He used Vallejo paints for the camouflage and artist’s pigments mixed with acrylic medium for the mud weathering. The base was built up with extruded foam and Celluclay, while the trench contains coffee stir sticks and parts from his dad’s spare-parts box. The puddle is Magic Water two-part resin tinted with Humbrol green paint. A final touch of barbed wire came from unwound picture-framing wire.”
