Alex, 12, says he built Academy’s 1/144 scale F-14A Tomcat because his father built and loved the planes when he was a kid. Alex painted mainly with LifeColor paints and tried weathering using pastel dust mixed with water. “It worked a treat!” he says. “I was surprised that there was absolutely no interior detail at all, as this was my first 1/144 scale plane.”
