Ernie assigned a HobbyBoss 1/48 scale F/A-18D to the Blue Angels using Testors Model Master enamels and decals from CAM Pro. He sprayed several coats of clear gloss enamel over the blue and yellow, then set the model aside for two weeks to cure. Buffing with Novus No. 2 polishing compound and a soft rag produced a high shine. He says, “Unfortunately, no yellow canopy-rail decals are provided for the two-seater canopy. Using Tamiya tape, I matched the lines to the decal lines. White paint went on first to lighten the background for the yellow. This cut down the number of coats needed to cover the darker color.”
