I live in Eastern Iowa. I completed few ship models when I was a kid and have always been fascinated with them. What brought me back to the hobby as an adult would probably be the Forrester Hornblower and O'Brian Aubrey novels.
I'm currently starting Revell's HMS Bounty and I have Heller's HMS Victory waiting. After those two, which may be a long time, I want to build a wooden model.
I have also been bitten by the Armor bug, so I'll see where that leads.
Other hobbies include, but not limited to, fishing, hunting, reading, computer games, war/board games and role playing games.
The model for my avatar was not constructed by me, obviously. It it the Leda or Phoenix, the plaque says, a 5th rate 36 gun frigate, 1783. I took the photo at the US Naval Academy model ship museum Annapolis Md. The museum is a must visit.
