I've been building models since I was about 10. Back then I used to just open the box and glue it together (with those messy tubes of testors glue) without ever using paint. After a long hiatus, I started modeling again a little over a year ago and have taken it to the next level. I generally build WWII aircraft but have strayed a little and built newer aircraft and a Aircraft Carrier that my dad served on. I don't really adhere to making my models historically accurate, I just make them so that I am happy with them and they look good.
