In 1972 my older brother took me to see The Poseidon Adventure. I was hooked. Within that first year, I saw the movie 21 times and my facination with ships began. I started my model ship collection with the S.S. United States and then a few battle ships followed, but it wasn't until 1973 I found a model of the Queen Mary by Revell. She was my pride possesion and I took my time putting her together. Over the years my ship collection stagnated as I persued other interests, theater and music and acting. Fast forward many years later (2015) I began to think about my lost ship collection and suddenly I was hungry again. My serch for a model to build led me to eBay where I found a Revell model of the Queen Mary - believe it or not - cir: 1971. The same kit I first put together in 1973. I snapped it up. It was missing a few parts, decals and some pieces were warped, but I tinkered her back together and my venture down the modeling road began again. I am happy to be a part of this community of model builders. Thank you for letting me in.
