Squadron mail order customer service?
Posted by Anonymous on Monday, November 10, 2003 12:32 PM
Without going in details, I'm having a problem with these folks. They're unresponsive to emails, and I'm not getting much help from the telephone order folks.
Any one have feedback about squadron.com?
Also - any other internet dealers out there with a good search feature on their web sites?
Thanks.

I have not had any problems with them. I order off of the website and if I have a problem I always call. They are the only ones that I use for ordering. I would though like for them to send you an e-mail when an order ships and also I would like for them to notify me when something I order is not in stock. It is frustrating to see the box show up only to read the invoice and find that something was not in stock and to try later.
My problem is the mail is so freakin slow around here that it usually takes 4 days to get an order. I am only about 4-5 hours away from them.

Personally I've never had a problem with Squadron.com. Roll models has a good search site ( www.rollmodels.com ), shipping can be slow with them though. Pacific Front are the people how have got me torqued right now.

I never had a problem with Squadron. I've always ordered by phone and they would tell me right there if is in stock. They were also very helpful when I was trying to find a kit that wasn't listed in there catalog I took up alot of their time only to find out that they didn't have it. The only problem I have is getting their supplement every month, some months I don't even get it. When I call them about it, they send me a new one and tell me to talk to my Post office and when I talk to my P.O. they tell that the problem is with their P.O.
Trevor Where am I going and why am I in this handbasket?

I've ordered online and over the phone and have never had a problem. I even get the supplement in a timely fashion.

I've been using Squadron since I don't have a LHS. I have never had any problems with them. I did get one kit, UPS, the shipping box was not damaged but when I opened it the kit was crushed several major parts were damaged. I called customer service and gave the woman the part numbers that were damaged. Five days later I had a new kit at my door. Sure I've had the occasional out of stock, but, hey that's life. Bob

I have an order on the way with them now and, as already mentioned, after you order it, they tell you nothing. You just have to wait until it shows. I have no clue when that will be unless I call them. That's my only complaint really.

I too have an order in with them right now placed on the net. I usually order by the net but also have used the phone. In fact I missed an item when I placed my order last night and called them today and Pam was most helpful. Usually my orders arrive within seven calander days. Have never had a problem with them - ever.

I've used them a few times and found that they are very responsive and helpful if you talk to them on the phone. Email and 'net communication was less than good...

I made an order with them once & didn't get into trouble. I just made another order which I hope is being processed. It kinda takes a while for shipment to reach the east coast.

No problem here, but I only deal with them on the phone and ask up front if they have what I'm looking for in stock. Takes about 3-4 days to get a package to Florida from them.

I've been using squadron for years and i'd swear by them, their prices are usually the best around, i've also used model expo.com amd phoenix-models.com, prices vary with each one so i tend to shop around quite abit and i find that what i save in one place i can spend in another, hahahahaha, that's a shopping tip i got from the little lady. hope this helps.Smile [:)]

I've never had a problem with them. I have only recently started using them over the net instead of the phone, but so far no problems.

Their prices vary quite a bit compared to other sources, so it pays to shop around. They are my preferred supplier If they are reasonably close to other vendors in price - they provide good customer service and adequate packing (none of their shipments has ever arrived damaged).

In fact, in my opinion they provide second best service in mail order model supplies, surpassed only by the now defunct Airliners ATP.

All in all, no complaints.

I'd just like to say that I have always had good experiences with them. Yes, they are a little behind the times in terms of what is shipped or backordered, or when it is shipped. But everytime I have called, they have been extremely nice and helpful - and these days that counts for a lot.

For my part, I'm going to be loyal to them!

I have ordered lots of items from them with only one problem. I ordered a kit on line and after two weeks it had not arrived. I called them and was told the item was back order. I sure would have been nice if they had e-mailed me and let me know before hand. I never did get the kit from them.

Nope-no problems yet! They even faxed me a missing instruction sheet for an Emhar "Tadpole". i've always used email to get in touch with them and they've been very prompt. Hopefully your problem will be resolved and your faith restored.

I ordered parts from them on the tenth by phone and had them delivered thismorning. In the past I've ordered by computer and had the same service.
I prefer to order on line though because I dont have to wait until the little women is out or hide in the basement when I call.

I too have used Squadron for years. I order by phone so I know immediately if something is not available. I've always found them friendly and helpful. My only wish is that shipping to Canada were not so expensive but that's not their fault.

I'll join the masses. I have called from Okinawa Japan and had nothing but outstanding service. The website is really nice and I just ordered a bunch of stuff (more than $100, no shipping chargeWink [;)]) I recommend them highly. I hope to someday build all of those great deals I've found over the years!

Squadron has given me outstanding service for over twenty years, including those disparate times during their moves. Nothing but kudos to their staff for outstanding service.

I've only used them once, by phone, and Pam was great at finding the paints I needed. I even called them (her) the next day to order some additional decal sets, and she remembered me from the day before. She got the decals in on the same shipment.
I've had some other e-buying experiences with other houses and they are all pretty much the same about notification (meaning, rather lacking on the info) but I've always received my stuff.
The only time I didn't receive something (from another supplier with the initials GM) was because they held up an entire order simply because one item was out of stock. A few emails back and forth took care of the problem, however.
Keep in mind that they are probably very busy people, and at the same time that we are looking to save a few pennies here and there from them, they are also doing the same in order to pass on the savings to us. A little kindly feedback goes a long way, also.
In general, I've found all of them to be honest and sincere in their attempts to serve us modelers.
I am glad that they are there, and what would we say if they suddenly went away?

Then again, that's just my opinion.Cool [8D]

Squadron has provided me with outstanding service over the past twenty years. True, unless you specifically ask they will usually not notify you of a backorder.
Ordering by phone has definite advantages: if you wish to take advantage of a sale item in the monthly flier you need to phone that order in (not go online). Ordering online doesn't provide Squadron with the particular prefix or other info to give you the monthly flier sale price. At least, that's been my experience.

I've never been able to get the website to work for me. It just keeps giving me the same screen and telling me to fill in my name and when I do, the same screen comes up and asks me to do it again and again. I revert to the phone and they've been wonderful in that department.Approve [^]
