Anyone else having this problem?
Posted by Jim Barton on Tuesday, January 26, 2010 10:05 AM

When I type in the word "s s *report me*" ( the single letter word for "one" as in "one plane" or "one car") the post displays ss *report me* instead of the proper word. Anyone know what's up with that?

I don't get your problem Jim? Are you saying the numeral 1 causes it to put 'report me' into your posts?

No, that comes in fine? Can you spell out the word like t h i s?

Actually, that was stupid of me! How do you spell s s *report me* single letter word! LOL

Let me try an experiment:

s s *report me* B C D E u c k *REPORT ME!!* o d a m m i t *report me* H I J K L M N O P Q R S T U V W X Y Z

s s *report me* b c d e u c k *REPORT ME!!* o d a m m i t *report me* h i j k l m n o p q r s t u v w x y z

LOL! LMAO

Obviously the nanny program used on this site has gone nuts!

Apparently the first, sixth and seventh letter can be used to spell words that end in 'ss', 'uck' and 'odammit' and tells other readers to report you for spelling campfire words.

Bgrigg, like you found it out the hard way! The bug itself is so over the top! By the way, I've seen it in other posts as well. So it probably gets me sometime too. Best greetings

Pawel

Like so many things that intend good, they usually end up causing problems. Imagine how many times people use the letter that sounds like "ah"?

There is "ah" local winery that had to stop sending emailed newsletters as nanny programs were blocking chardonnay. It might take you ah while to see why... Surprise

Well, it seems to be quite common when I visited the AIRCRAFT section of this forum.

It would be very interesting to find out who is that poor internet police that receives this "report". Anyone knows?

Probably everyone with admin privileges. That's the way it worked on a forum I moderated. That way "someone" would deal with the problem.

Well, apparently the problem is fixed, but any posts made when it was happening is all messed up.

The single letter word I was trying to use is also the first letter of the alphabet, to clarify what I was talking about. Looking at your posts, I guess other people have had this problem, too. I guess it's a minor glitch in the new website.
