Revells '66 Chevy SS - 396 Hardtop Done 25 SEPT 2010

 I am really liking what I am seeing... Even though your wife does not take an active part in your hobby, it is always nice to include em.. Btw, she has very good eye for colour choice.. I bet the SS will look really good in Teal..

I am liking it too!!! I recently got that kit and it filled a gap in my Impala line I'm collecting. I have them continuous from '58-'67 so far. Any fit issues worth mentioning?

Thanks for the positive comments. Here are a couple more photo's. I need to work on getting rid of the "BLUR".

Here is the body with 2 coats of Krylon white primer. Next up the TEAL.

 You are most welcome my friend..!! She is looking really good and for the blur thingy, does your camera have a setting for automatic focus? Geez you are really coming along with this build..

 I am heavily into aircraft modeling  but I have a 69 Nova that's almost done.. MMmmm maybe I should take it off the back burner and finisher her! Looking forward to seeing some colour on her!

I will check the auto focus in the morning. Thanks for the tip. I laid the first coat of teal this a.m. Quite pleased. It will need 2 maybe 3 more coats. The next phase will be the chrome trim using Alclad.

When I am finished with this I can't wait to start on Revell's 1/25 1959 Ford Galaxie Skyliner Convertible which I have on pre-order.

As for your 69 Nova....Built It.

As for my Nova, it'll be done in the near future and I will post pix!! I am so looking forward to t he re release of Revells 1950 AUstin Gaser.. My neighbor had a 52 English Austin gaser and did she look n sound sweet!!

After 5 'light' coats and days for drying the body is now painted.

I'll let this dry for a couple of days and then mask the trim so I can lay down the Alclad Chrome.

 She is really looking great and I especially like the colour..It is totally different and I bet the Mrs is liking it  too!!

Mmm, never actually thought of using Alclad to be honest with you for my Nova.. Now switching things around a bit, have you ever thought of using bare metal foil?

Looking forward to seeing more WIPs.. On a side note, a friend of mine from our modeling club gave me a "How to" to buffing out the final coat.. Intended for my Nova

Tonight I will start the Alclad Chrome trim now that it has cured for a week.

Hi Mike,

Spent an hour or so masking the trim on the left side tonight. Will do some more tomorrow.

I had to get some work done on my P-47 GB, and an F-4 Phantom.

Will sent photo once all is masked.

I'm calling this one done. As for the kit I had no issues. It was a fun build and all went together without issue. This being my 2ND completed auto build I am looking forward to my next...a 49 Merc!

 All I have to say is OMG..!! SHe really turned out great all around..!! So how did the alclad deal work out and with the masking, did it do anything to the paint? I bet your wife is really excited to how it turned out as well huh?
