Just finished this for the Weathering GB.

I tried using the washes, filters and chipping that "the doog" showed in his Hetzer tutorial.

Think it came out OK, except for the chipping.

Also, added pigment weathering to wheels and mufflers.

All comments and suggestions, welcome.

I figure you could always add a little kit "stowage" to make that 222 look lived in. Wouldn't take away from the look of the kit but add to it.

Looks good.Are the screens PE?

I built this one many moons ago and the screens were kind of a pain. Some kinda mesh.

For future reference,a good old fashioned pencil works wonders on dark yellow for as a chipped paint effect.

Nice subtle weathering - just enough to make it look used without being a rustbucket. Big Smile

Tamiya "upgraded" this kit a few years back with PE screens and a turned alum. barrel.

Scott,  it looks great! Yes  I have very same kit from Tamiya but it is an upgraded set I brought last year.  It is on top of my list to build within a year... I need a break from those indy tracks.

Thanks, everyone for the comments.

Hey, TD4438. Yeah, it the kit with the photo-etched screens and they were a PAIN. So much so I had to rob a second pair from another of the same kit that was given to me by my uncle.

I actually, tried a few swipes with a graphite #2 pencil but stopped because I didn't like the way it looked. Oh, well live learn and model on. LOL.

I think the subtle weathering came out good.Ny only thoughts would be bang the jerry cans up,even use one of a different color to break it up a bit,and some black soot near the mufflers. But a fine looking job.

Just did this kit, stilling working on touching up my first attempt at a dio to go along with it. I thought this was a really fun kit, and the motorcycle/figure and the fuel drums were a nice little bonus too (perfect for me since I wanted an easy dio to start). I didn't really have that much of a problem with the screens which leads me to believe I got lucky... and now I'm scared of PE again, way to go.

I'll try to get some pictures of mine once I dirty up a few things. I'll be using this one as inspiration, looking at mine now it seems a little too clean. I also tried salt masking, PG underneath with Afrika Mustard on top, didn't like most of the results but a little chipping and sanding later I was able to get some subtle accents on the edges.

There are some that call me... Nash
