EdGrune,

Have you tried clearing your Internet cache? Which browser are you using?

Similar problem. Windows 10 laptop, can't log in using Edge, but can log in using Chrome.

Flushed the cache, including cookies on Edge browser and have now logged in ok.

Hey everyone! Sorry about the log-in issue (I too was locked out). If you delete your Cookies or try another brower you should be able to log in. The tech team is continuing to look into this. Thanks for your patience.

Had the same issue this morning, however deleting cookies did seem to solve the issue.

For Chrome you can remove the cookies for the finescale.com domain - limit's the cookie deletion and pain.  This fixed my problem:

Settings. Under "Privacy and security," click Cookies and other site data. Click See all cookies and site data. At the top right, search for the website's name.

put in finescale.com

At that point I clicked remove all and logged in with no problem.

Thanks,

John

If you are using MS Edge as your browser, you need to do this to remove Finescale cookies:

1: Open Edge and click on the three dots in the upper right side of the screen

2: Click on: Settings>Site Permissions>Cookies and Site Data>See All Cookies and Site Data.

3. Remove ALL cookies for Finescale.

4. Login to the FSM home page

5. Login to the forum

Everything should work from then on.

Generally, it's a good idea to clear your browser cache frequently.  There are so many updates to browsers, websites, and applications, that will usually give some kind of error or unexpected behavior, if you have cookies and other files cached from previous versions.

I just logged onto my Win 10 PC and I was able to login to the forum with no problem. What version of Edge are you running? I have the current version which was part of an automatic upgraded from last week.

Same problem a few days ago.  At the top of the page where the address bar for FineScale is located, there is a padlock icon with a red line through it.  This indicates the browser believes the site is insecure, and won't allow you to login.

Somehow I was able to change the browser settings so it makes an exception for this forum site.  It works, but the warning padlock icon is still there.

Jack

Same here GM but on with Edge. What is very interesting is that I can log on this site using Chrome and access all areas except the forums that then kicks me out. Then I try to log on and nada.

UPDATE!

GM try going on the three dots on the right top of the Chrome homepage, click on that and locate cleaning out the cookies. It worked for me a few minutes ago and I'm logged on here using Chrome. Cleaning cookies the regular way thru Windows 10 didn' work but going via the 3 dots did.

Firefox is the browser I had problems with, so here the steps I took:

1. - click the padlock icon

2. - click the arrow

Here you can see the three items I've enbabled for the Finescale site, and to get to that option ...

3. - click 'More Information'

... and enable the first three options to allow in the 'Permissions' tab..  I just picked these as they seemed the obvious choices, but haven't checked if just one or two would suffice.

Jack

Jack, tried your method plus "install add-ons" and "set cookies" to "allow". I was able to finally log in but my screen name doesn't appear after "welcome back". I guess the FSM IT folks are working on this issue.

I've been logged out for days and reset password many times with no luck getting in. I finally right clicked on the "Not Secure" icon in the upper left of Chrome and scrolled down under Privacy and Security settings to turn on "insecure content" to ALLOW, then logged back in and it works now. At least for the moment.

LOL GM did my yard day before yesterday in 100+ temp Cool. In the garage now replacing brake pads in what feels like a steam bath. Oh well drinking plenty of water and saving mucho dinero in doing my own brakes.

Let's see how long my cookie fix lasts on Chrome. Hmm

I can still login into the Forum page using MS Edge and Apple Safari. However, when I use Edge I get a warning next to the page address (Not Secure). I don't recall getting the warning last week before this problem started.

Now this login problem is happening on the Scale Auto website. I had to remove all of the Scaleauto cookies before I could login to their web site. After I logged in to the Scale Auto page I got a BIG RED warning (Not Secure) next to the page address. Somebody at Kalmbach is playing around with their web site software.

With the money she saved doing her own brakes, Thelma was able to catch a birds eye view of the Grand canyon.

No dude, obviously I'm kidding. I used to do that too when I had a garage, not a two car storage unit.
