More to do with storage space and cost than anything.

Thanks for the advice goldhammer88 if can sort out a site I'll move the thread to autos and let everyone that has been kind enough to reply know. But this photo thing is a nightmare not sure why forums use this system, must be a security thing.

Cheers AB88

Just throwing it out there I have taken some pics of me kit should I open a new thread somewhere else as this is introduce yourself?

Cheers.

Check out the various sub-pages, and the fine print of what is included on that page.  With the Pete, you're looking at the auto section, and several big rigs have been showing up there since the demise of Scale Auto site earlier this year

Hope you find a host site that suits your needs, looking forward to seeing pics of your builds.

There are several other hosting sites AB.

I've used Imageshack for years. There is an anual fee but I've never had any issues. I don't know what the reviews on it are though Huh?

There are several others, postimage and so forth.

Cheers Bish,

I'll do that then as I had a quick look and although Flickr seems to have poor reviews you can only speak as you find I guess.

Have a good Sunday.

Now that surprises me, i can't say i have any complaints. Try the free basic account, if you do like it, you can always try some where else.

And you.

Best to place your pics in the appropriate section. I use flickr and have never had any issues. You do have to pay if you want more than 1,000 pics stored there, but i fel its worth it. But there are a few other sites. Not sure if any are based in the UK but not really sure that matters. You will find you need a hosting site for most forums and they are a handy place to store your pics.

Having had a quick read I am starting to fear I will need to sign up to a photo sharing thing to upload the photos I took today of my kit. I have never used one or felt secure using one anyone got any advice?

And should I use a uk one?

Sorry probably not the correct forum for this question.

Cheers

Thanks for the welcome Mustang 1989,  I hope to upload a photo of the kit but it'll be very dusty as its been in the back of all my stuff for pretty much all of 30 years + the kit is a Revell Peterbilt Black widow rig I put the chassis together and then life took over so a challenge for sure. Hopefully it will still all be in the box! It should be as I had the sense to put  the kit box in another box so fingers crossed ha ha.

her's a few I watch, excelent information! I'm not at the level of these guys but they do give you some ideas of what you can achive. There are a few that are just for beginers, and don't know them off hand. They go over techniques, tools and basic construction.

Here are the guys I watch. Some haven't posted in a while

Hello modelcrazy,

Just an observation but there are a lot of people posting modeling videos but at my skill level I'm not sure I would spot a poor one.

How can you tell?7

now I see people talking about brushes powered by air!

Oh boy, your going to be a fun one I see. Air brushes are a small paint gun. There are a lot of diffrent ones and several paint delivery options.

My suggestion would be to look around the site, especially on the paint forum. Look up some YouTube vids, but don't get discouraged by the really good modlers, you'll get there soon enough.

Good evening modelcrazy,

Thanks for the welcome, just the black widow for now but would like to try a Lancaster and possibly an old steam loco but when I started making kits pretty much the only way to put paint on it was to brush it  now I see people talking about brushes powered by air!

what's that all about?

Haa, well, sometimes. Most of us just stay logged in and close the page. Ye, the site can be a bugger at times. You'll learn it soon enough.

I never logg out myself, but there is link at the top of the page next to the image of the new front cover. If you have tried that and if it has not worked, not sure what else to suggest.

I am originally from Norwich, but now living south of the border.

Apologies not sure if this is the correct place to ask but I seem to be having trouble logging out.

Is this common?

Cheers.

Welcome from across the pond Big Smile

You said you had started on a Pete then went to the P-61? I hope I got that right. If it's the Monogram 61 then sorry about that mate. The Mono 61 it not a nice kit to return to. Good to have you here and look forward to conversing you you. If you're like all the other British on here then you will be a might fine bloke. Big Smile

Posting photos is a trick if you've never posted before. But you'll get the hang of it with a little help from your friends.

I would like to see that Peterbuilt.

Ah I see thanks Bish,

Yep I agree it's good to know we're in the east especially Nelsons County. Although everyone so far across the water has been welcoming.

Cheers.
