Hi Everbody fron sunny South Wales!

I'm new to the forum, but I've been a FSM and previously Scale Auto subscriber for many years. I've also been modelling for many years

My main interests are Drag Racing and Muscle Car models, with the occasional aircraft or spacecraft thrown in.

I'm also actively involved in drag racing and hot rodding over here in the UK, and I'm currently restoring my  own 1 to 1 Mopar known as 'the old heap'.

This looks like a friendly place, and I'm looking forward to getting involved!

Best Regards to all,

Limey

Let me be the first to say "welcome".  It's a friendly place, though a bit slow at the moment.  I hope you enjoy your time here.  Smile

Welcome!  Did a bit of drag racing myself and some of the twistie stuff as well.  I do about 1/3 car models.  Many great modelers on here - looking forward to seeing some of our builds.

Thanks,

John

Welcome from across the pond. These are a great bunch of people here. Did some racing in the past but not anymore. Did circle track and demo derby. What exactly is the old heap? Just curious. Hope you have fun here.

Hi Limey! Welcome to the Forums! Glad to have you with us.

An ex drag racer also. Ran low stock classes in '59, '60 & '61. Had to give it up when I discovered that you can't race the car that you need for work every day. Still interested in racing. I live about 2 miles from a local dragway. Build some cars but main interest is WWI & WWII planes followed by sailing ships.

Look forward to seeing your work.

Hello and welcome to the forum. It's currently a little slower than normal, due to the summer months, but this is a nice site with great fellow modelers. You will find all skill sets and interests in the FSM forum.

I too started as a competition or racing car guy for many years. If you linger too long though you might just get pulled into one of the group builds of some other subject that will broaden your interests and make modeling just a little more fun.

I really enjoyed building the top fuel, funny cars, pro-stock, gassers, etc. for many years. Some day I would still like to build the 1/16 Don Prudhomme set of funny car and top fuel Army sponsored cars (wish list).

Here are a few of my quarter mile cars, next response perhaps you can show us some of your work....

Thanks for the welcomes everybody - Much appreciated!

Great builds Ben - Love the Tony Nancy 1/16 build.

I've started another thread on my attempt to build a  1/25 replica of the Old Heap at:

'1968 Plymouth Sport Satellite - Help Needed!'

In the meantime here are a few shots of my current build of the MPC Wynns Charger which is nearing completion:

And a couple of shots of my 1/1 scale project:

All the best guys,

Limey
